(Kudu – KU-01, 1971, 🇺🇸)
So glad I listened to this album this morning. It’s a perfect tone-setter; especially for the end of summer: a last blast of fun, funk and fury. Hammond’s Hammond touch is unique and Eric Gale’s guitar playing runs the gamut between quiet jazzman in the corner to full-on fire starter. This Kudu pressing is a bit noisy, but it doesn’t get in the way of the album’s enjoyment too much.
