We’re happy to share a small but meaningful piece of news from the wider music world.

A quote written by Evan Toth for Tracking Angle has appeared as a pull quote in Billboard, included in a recent Grammy consideration feature connected to Nothing But Time, the debut album by the Steve Bardwil Band. The quote originally came from Evan’s in-depth interview with producer Joe Chiccarelli, conducted for Michael Fremer’s Tracking Angle, and it’s gratifying to see that work resonate beyond its original home.

What makes this especially nice is the sense of continuity. Tracking Angle has long been a place where careful listening and long-form conversation are encouraged, and Michael Fremer’s support of that approach over the years has made space for writers like Evan to dig deeper than the usual press cycle allows. Seeing Billboard lift language from that context feels less like a crossover and more like a quiet acknowledgment between two corners of the same ecosystem.

From our perspective at The Sharp Notes, it’s a reminder that thoughtful music writing still travels. Sometimes it moves slowly, sometimes it shows up in unexpected places, and occasionally it earns a nod in a familiar place. We’re grateful to Michael, proud of Evan’s work, and pleased to see so many great outlets cooperating and reverberating together in one place.
