Jazz and rock drummer extrodinare, Cindy Blackman-Santana has announced the first leg of her spring and early summer tour dates. You may know her from her many top-notch releases as a band-leader, or perhaps you know her as the drummer in Lenny Kravitz's iconic "Are You Gonna Go My Way" video...
I know her best as the friendly person on the other side of the Zoom who helped me get my interview with Carlos Santana - her husband - up and running!
In any case, revisit her back catalog of music and review her upcoming dates; her performance with John Medeski and Vernon Reid on 6/14 sounds especially exciting!
